“I started PA Troutfitters after discovering my love of teaching fly fishing. The name is a nod to my mentor, Dave Kumlien, who started Montana Troutfitters in Bozeman.”

Rivers we fish

The water,
mapped.

The Lehigh is our home river, a 109-mile freestone and the largest tributary of the Delaware. Select any stop to see how we fish it.

  • Lehigh & tributaries
  • Pocono streams
  • Delaware
  • Smallmouth rivers

When we fish

Trout in spring
& fall. Bass in summer.

We fish the Lehigh until mid to late June, when warming water makes catch and release unsafe for trout. We pick back up in September once the river cools. In between, we float the Susquehanna and Juniata for smallmouth when topwater action peaks.

Hatch windows are typical, not guaranteed. Every trip is weather and flow dependent.

The guides

Local water,
local knowledge.

Every guide grew up on, or has spent years learning, the rivers we fish. Select a name to read more.
